I would suggest that SIPF is able to hold workshops or even have a showcase in the hotel instead of just having their office located in the hotel. The hotel’s location may be an advantage as it has a rich heritage and culture of Little India. This allows SIPF to even hold a sub event which is a photography competition or workshop that is related to the hotel’s architecture or around Little India.
Hence,
if SIPF is able to future collaborate with Albert Court Village
Hotel, they can not only provide the space for the office and
complementary rooms, but also assist the festival by having some
activities within the hotel itself.
In
conclusion, I would say that in terms of the quality of the work
showcased and the price that the visitors have to pay, it is worth
the money. It brings things to a whole new level with how a
photograph is able to convey strong messages across.
This
whole festival is going stronger each time and it was a success
despite having little publicity.
SIPF
have not fully utilised the marketing mix effectively. It would be
much well known and larger scale if publicity is done through various
ways. This can at the same time also help to attract people to the
various partnering venues too. Not to mention, by publicising the
festival, it can reach out to newer target market and it can also
attract more international visitors too. Although it is gaining
recognition with foreigners now, it has to be up scale and be a major
event in the future to uphold its expectation.
